The SM58 is great value but the Beta 58 sounds even better for slightly more money. The proximity effect is normal for a directional microphone and is not a fault of the SM58. It can be used creatively but most times I’m using EQ to counteract the bass boost for a more natural sound.

Im excited! I've had the GLXD4/58B set for a couple of years. It looks good, it's easy to operate and never had any problems. Now im going to upgrade to an SLXD system because I want to be able to use it pro style in every country and upgrade to a B87A & DH5. Can't wait to start working with it, read lot's of great reviews. Although the GLXD never failed, I just felt like upgrading 😏

If you do live streaming, gaming, reading books, and maybe sing a song in a home studio or small theater every now and then, would the duraplex suffice? Or would the twinplex be better?

just want to input , i really like shure se215 but i dont like the mmcx connector never had this mmcx last for more than a year there is always a problem around the mmcx the most frequent problem is disconnected sound , replacement cable solved this problem but never last more than a year if possible is it possible to make se215 to different connector than mmxc? like 0.78 2 pin connector or a2dc?

Pergunto porque temos uns transmissores MVAVES e eles só podem ser usados com o microfone desligado, quando ligado junto aos MVAVES a voz fica picotando e falhando!!!

Really interesting to hear this history. My best friend passed away last year and among his effects are a Model 55, 545SD and and SM58. All of them in working order. Now I’ve got a really interesting collection of mic’s, and I know more of their history to boot.

The proximity effect is a beautiful thing in the studio. You can control the equalization easier, right at the source. Want more lows? Move the mic closer. Too much low? You guessed it.🤙🏼

I'd love to know the science behind how the wind shield blocks wind but still allows for vocals to be transmitted to the microphone. That's very interesting technology.

Q isn't the same thing as bandwidth. You use the amount of center frequency and divide that by how much bandwidth is being used to find Q which is the width of a frequency range that an EQ is going to effect. Bandwidth is used to find Q but they are not the same.

I bought the shure aonic 3 earphones ($200!) three years ago and stopped using them because within a month the right earbud got diminished sound. I bought a replacement cable today ($40!) thinking it was the cable and the right earbud still sounds quiet! Horrible audio company that claim their professional earphones last a lifetime!

Recently got my hands on a ULXS4 and a ULX1-G3, but they don't seem to register one another when set to the same groups/channels. the MHz ranges are 554-590 on the receiver and 470-506 on the transmitter. Is this a problem? To the best of my knowledge, they were used alongside each other for a few years, but I may be wrong. Thanks!
